2006 Opinions

Writing in the British newspaper The Independent in January 2006, Lovelock argued that, as a result of global warming, “billions of us will die and the few breeding pairs of people that survive will be in the Arctic where the climate remains tolerable” by the end of the 21st century.

2012 Opinions

“The problem is we don’t know what the climate is doing. We thought we knew 20 years ago. That led to some alarmist books – mine included – because it looked clear-cut, but it hasn’t happened;” he continues
“The climate is doing its usual tricks. There’s nothing much really happening yet. We were supposed to be halfway toward a frying world now,” he said
The world has not warmed up very much since the millennium. Twelve years is a reasonable time … it (the temperature) has stayed almost constant, whereas it should have been rising – carbon dioxide is rising, no question about that”, he added.
Climate Change=Religion

He criticizes environmentalists for treating global warming like a religion.[33]

“It just so happens that the green religion is now taking over from the Christian religion,” Lovelock observed
“I don’t think people have noticed that, but it’s got all the sort of terms that religions use … The greens use guilt. That just shows how religious greens are. You can’t win people round by saying they are guilty for putting (carbon dioxide) in the air.”[33]
Other Opinions
In a follow up interview Lovelock stated his support for natural gas; he now favors fracking (which environmentalists oppose), as a low-polluting alternative to coal.[33][13] He opposes the concept of ‘sustainable development’, where modern economies might be powered by wind turbines, calling it meaningless drivel. [33] He keeps a poster of a wind turbine to remind himself how much he detests them.[13]
Words of Wisdom
“One thing that being a scientist has taught me is that you can never be certain about anything. You never know the truth. You can only approach it and hope to get a bit nearer to it each time. You iterate towards the truth. You don’t know it.”

NASA simply can`t turn off the BS. Here is the actual satellite photo from July 12 – no indication of melt in the interior

Here is the same photo from July 7 – looks identical

Below is the Summit webcam on July 9, at -19C  This was supposed to be right in the middle of the NASA big melt.

Where is the big melt, NASA? temperatures got barely above freezing for a few hours, and NASA declares a meltdown

What the 1930s Look Like

Real Climate Science

Last week our friends were saying that heat waves, fires and flooding are what global warming looks like.

Climate Change: U.S. Heat Waves, Wildfires And Flooding Are ‘What Global Warming Looks Like’

It turns out that they were actually talking about the 1930s.

There have been 34,000 fires this year, compared to 185,000 in 1939.

Galileo

  • Believed the Earth revolved around the Sun
  • Most people, including the Catholic Church believed the Earth was the center of the universe
  • There was pretty much a consensus that the Earth was the center of the universe. People like Galileo where minorities, in this situation.
  • Galileo had the evidence that the Earth revolved around the Sun, but it was ignored because it was a new idea, and the people at the Catholic Church didn’t like that it was going against their idea.
  • Galileo was put under house arrest in 1633, just for his beliefs

Climate Change Skeptics

  • Believe Climate Change is natural, and is not caused by man
  • A majority of people believe in Climate Change. Some even thing there is a consensus between scientists.
  • Have evidence against Climate Change, but new ideas are simply ignored

Here’s The Evidence

Many probably are automatically blaming the Colorado wildfires on “Climate Change”, but this isn’t the truth. There are several factors that prove this wrong.

1. We currently are in a cold PDO and warm AMO, which averages much of the West in drier than normal (in red). Drier than normal conditions means these areas are more likely to have wildfires starting up.

Via http://icecap.us

2.Drought, verified.  The map above (Cool Pacific, warm Atlantic) match up nearly exactly with the current drought in the West.  http://droughtmonitor.unl.edu/DM_west.htm3. The Earth hasn’t even warmed, the past 15 years.

4. This kind of weather isn’t new. Even a mega drought occurred 900 years ago, in the past http://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2011/11/111106151505.htm#.T8wEwI3aDj0.twitter

5. Climate is always changing! There are many times that were hotter than today. This would include the Medieval Warm Period. Temperatures are actually cool, compared to then. There have been times that both the Arctic and Antarctic were ice free. There were times of mega droughts, and floods in the past.

6. Only 0.04% of the atmosphere is made up of CO2, and humans make up 3% of that. How can we have any effect on climate?

7. There is a lag between CO2 and temperature. Temperature changes before CO2.

You don’t think the Global Warming scam has gone too far? Think again. Carnegie Institute wants to spray aerosols high into the atmosphere to block the sun. Why? It will cool Earth’s temperature. This all traces back to the lie that Earth’s temperature continues to rise, caused by the emissions of CO2. The fact is, CO2 makes up less than 1% of the atmosphere. Humans contribute to 3% of that, while 97% of CO2 is released by plants. How can man contribute at all to Global Warming? I don’t see how people believe the hyped up crap out there, from media.  Below is a chart off of Ryan Maue’s site, verifying temperatures haven’t warmed at all, the past 10 years.

from policlimate.com

Carnegie Institute could probably care less. If this junk is put into the atmosphere, it will have health effects on us.  It would also change the color of the sky, create artificial clouds, and decrease sunlight that hits Earth’s surface. ============================================================

No, this isn’t a joke, it isn’t a fake document, and it isn’t a misinterpretation. It is a paper published by Dr. James Hansen (and the GISS team) in PNAS (Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences). In the paper (published in 2000, but long since buried) they make these two bold statements (emphasis mine):

..we argue that rapid warming in recent decades has been driven mainly by non-CO2 greenhouse gases (GHGs), such as chlorofluorocarbons, CH4, and N2O, not by the products of fossil fuel burning, CO2 and aerosols..

If sources of CH4 and O3 precursors were reduced in the future, the change in climate forcing by non-CO2 GHGs in the next 50 years…
